Bolijoe, since the beginning of the year I have been doing some sort of playing the market. I am not satisfied with folding my hands and watch my portfolio diminish in value. Fortunately, my broker- Topmost Securities Ltd-has been very helpful. My buy and sell mandates have always been executed to the letter by implementing them at the right prices and within stipulated time frames. On my part, I have not committed fresh funds into buying new stocks. What I do is to track prices of moving stocks in my portfolio. As soon as I notice a 20% rise of any stock in my portfolio, I sell. Conversely, as soon as I notice a 20% drop of a stock I sold earlier, I buy back; thus increasing the number of shares. I then wait for another 20% rise and then sell. In summary, my objective is to grow active stocks in my portfolio. I have sold all the useless insurance stocks in my portfolio. Remember the trend has been a slide in prices generally. Take advantage of the spikes in prices of active stocks. My view is a continuous fall in prices till end of this year. It is going to be a case of DEAD CAT BOUNCE. Happy speculating !!!

Dear Bolijoe, I am tempted once again to comment on the issue of when the Nigeria Stock Market will bounce back. The question is on the lips of every Shareholder of Nigeria Stocks. I appreciate the bitter pills which all have been forced to swallow because of the crashed Stock market. I make bold to say that Nigeria situation is far beyond the world econnomic meltdown. Our problem stems from the fact that the present Federal Govt lack any focused economic policies that attract any major investor. All the gains of Obasanjo govt that boasted the economic which led to the astronomical and unprecendented growth of the Stock market have all be broken down or even completely erroded. This is the crux of the matter. To redeem the situation, the Govt has alot to do so as the loss confidence will be restored before there could be gradual come back. However, every opportunity presents another opportunity. The present prices of the Stocks are more or less a give away. This is the time to buy. Buy now. Buy the Blue Chips for the give away prices. Lastly and directly to your question, sometime in January this year, I stated in this forum that I had a revelation that the rebounce of the stock will start from the end of 3rd quarter 2009. Nothing much between now and Sept 2009. Between Oct-Dec 2009, the bulls will come alive. For now sidon look, Dry Bones Will Rise Again. THE RICHMAN.

the only thing bothering me now is the money to buy more stocks. this is a very good time in the market. its all about investing to reap bountifully. stuff is cheap in the market now while some people are complaining that the market is so low they cannot make good returns when actually you are not supposed to sell now. Consider the market as a crop that has seasons of varying length. The crop is not yet matured for reaping. Plant more seeds and weed your farm.
